Ideal for gluing small areas (not suitable for gluing large areas). Adhesives of many plastics such as rigid PVC (polyvinyl chloride), ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene, impact-resistant styrene), PS (polystyrene), acrylic resin (Plexiglas®), polycarbonate (Makrolon®), phenolic resins (Bakelite®), metals (eg steel, iron, light and heavy metals), porcelain, ceramics, rubber and wood. Only partially suitable for glass (over a period of time the bond becomes brittle, causing it to weaken).

Not suitable for

Not suitable for PE, PP, silicone and rubber resins (Si), PTFE, Teflon®, styrofoam, fabrics and leather clothing.

Working conditions

Do not use at temperatures below +10°C. The adhesive responds optimally to an air humidity level of 50%-70%.

Surface requirements

The materials to be glued must be clean, dry, free of dust and grease and fit properly.

Preliminary surface treatment

Any dust, oils, grease, wax or release agents should be thoroughly removed from the surfaces to be bonded. The best way to achieve this is to scrub the parts a few times with suitable solvents such as acetone (if this is suitable for the material – check first!). For metals and metal alloys it is usually sufficient to roughen the surface using emery paper or by sanding or brushing.

Instructions for use

Apply the glue directly from the tube, using the nozzle with as thin a surface of glue as possible on one side (too much glue slows down the curing process considerably!). Depending on the amount of glue applied and the material, the glue polymerizes within 60 seconds into synthetic resin and bonds the two parts very strongly. When gluing in low humidity, curing time can be reduced by short breathing on one of the parts to be assembled. The best welding results are achieved at room temperature. Basic reaction surfaces accelerate the curing of the adhesive, reactive surfaces (eg wood, ceramics, porcelain, leather) slow down their action. After use, clean the nozzle with a cloth and close the tube by screwing the cap tightly.

Advice

If the skin sticks, soak as much as possible in warm soapy water and gently push without using force. Moisturize the skin afterwards. Another possibility is to rub the fingers in warm water and press a paper clip or wire together. After some time the fingers can separate. Affected areas can also be treated immediately with acetone removal. As organic solvents also remove grease, we recommend applying hand cream afterwards. If any glue spots remain, they can be cleaned with a pumice stone. If the product is sprayed into the eyes or mouth, the eyes or mouth should be held open and flushed with plenty of water. If necessary, seek medical advice. Due to the particular fumes created by cyanoacrylate adhesives, it is recommended to ventilate the areas well when using relatively large quantities.

Points of caution

Caution: Super Glue contains cyanoacrylate. Hazardous: Sticks to skin and eyes within seconds. Keep away from children. May cause irritation of the respiratory system. If you need medical advice, take the product container or label with you. Avoid breathing vapors. IF IN EYES: Rinse carefully with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.

Stains / residues

Immediately wipe off excess glue with a dry cloth. After curing, the adhesive residue is very difficult to remove. Acetone will dissolve the glue but very slowly (check suitability).

Storage conditions

Store in a dry, cool place where there is no chance of ice forming. Storage at a temperature below +5°C (in the refrigerator) ensures maximum shelf life.
